Wall Mural FAQ and How-To Information
What locations can wall murals be used at?
Children's bedroom, nursery or playroom, finished basements, doctor's offices, schools, daycares,
churches, restaurants, hospitals are to name a few. The locations are limitless!

Can the wall murals be personalized?
Yes! Specific wall murals have been designed to accommodate customized name personalization.
There is no additional charge for the personalization feature. Please contact us at info@dandypanda.
com for further information.

What if my wall doesn't have a smooth surface?
If you have a textured wall or any other rough surface, we recommend the installation of Cavalier Wall
Liner Paper, followed by two coats of flat latex paint before you hang the wall mural.

Do I need to prime the walls before hanging the mural?
Priming and sizing your walls ensures a strong bond, makes your murals easier to install, and should
make the removal process quicker and less difficult. We recommend using a primer-sealer
combination.

Are the wall murals “do-it-yourself”?
Full wall and chair rail sized murals require a greater comfort level with hanging. If you are not
extremely comfortable with hanging wallpaper, we recommend that you consult a professional
wallpaper hanger. When hanging the mural yourself we do recommend a second person to lend a
hand.

Are the wall murals pre-pasted?
No. We feel that it is better to apply paste to the paper at hanging, it makes for easier hanging and a
much better bond to the wall. Paste is not included with our murals.

Will the product that I receive be true to what I see on the web site?
Since computer monitors vary with graphic colors and clarity, Dandy Panda cannot guarantee that the
colors you see on your monitor are an exact representation of the product you receive. We can assure
you that the quality of the product will meet your expectations.

Can Wallsdecor wall murals be cleaned?
In most cases stains can be removed without a trace. For general cleaning, a sudsy solution of mild
soap and lukewarm water should be applied generously using a soft cloth with very light pressure. We
recommend a small area should be tested on the wall mural prior to a larger area. Excessive
scrubbing with harsh cleaning materials may damage the wallpaper mural.

How should I use the poster size murals?
Just like the larger wall murals, the poster size can be adhered to the wall as wallpaper. Just follow
the same hanging instructions. They can also be framed to complement your interior.

How many pieces do the murals come in?
Murals 8' x 14' come in three pieces.  All other sizes come in a single piece, with the exception of the
"Touchdown" Large Mural, which comes in two pieces.

HANG MURALS
Just follow these simple instructions and your new wall mural will give you and your family a splendid
view for years to come!

  1. To ensure the wallpaper wall mural is centered, use a level to mark your starting point. When
hanging our 3-panel murals we recommend centering the middle panel first, and then move
left to right with the other two mural panels. When hanging our single panel murals we
recommend positioning the mural accordingly to the designated wall space. Take your time
spreading out the wallpaper wall mural.
  2. Roll wall mural panel out on work table backside up.
  3. Apply paste (not included with mural) evenly to the back of the wall mural panel with a pasting
brush or roller. Avoid getting any paste on the face of the mural. If you do get paste on the face
of the mural, wipe gently with a wet sponge before the paste dries.
  4. Fold paste sides in toward the center of the panel, making sure picture side is out.
  5. Handle each panel carefully in order not to damage the mural. Important: DO NOT crease the
    folds.
  6. Mount the panel carefully by sliding it into position, making sure it lines up to the marked level
line. You should have enough time to move and position the wall mural to the accurate location.
  7. Using a plastic blade squeegee or a clean damp sponge; gently smooth the panel against the
wall, starting from the top. Smooth out all wrinkles and bubbles outward. Work down the panel
until it is applied securely. Small air bubbles should disappear once the wall mural completely
    dries.
  8. Wipe the wallpaper mural with a clean damp sponge to remove any excessive paste.
  9. Apply paste to the second panel and repeat steps 4 & 5.
  10. Apply panel 1 to the left of panel 2. Overlap the right edge of panel 1 over the left edge of panel
    2. Match the printed design at the selvage (unprinted) edge. With a fresh sharp blade cut
through both layers at once using a straight edge guide at the match of the printed design.
Remove the top cut-off edge of panel 2 and the bottom cut-off edge of panel 1. Smooth down
the remaining butted seam. Repeat this procedure with panel 3.
  11. When all mural panels have been hung, trim ceiling and baseboard using a straight edge.
Take your time trimming and change blades frequently to ensure an accurate cut.
  12. Make sure all seams are brushed or rolled completely.
  13. Using a clean, damp sponge wipe down the entire wallpaper wall mural to eliminate any paste
    residue.

Now sit back and enjoy your wall mural!

NOTE: Extreme caution should be used when trimming and/or hanging wallcovering around electrical
outlets. We recommend turning off all electrical current to the room at the circuit/fuse box.

We highly recommend the use of two people when installing this mural.
